Cambodia Gambling Dens
There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the border from next door Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime spot, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is true of most borders.
The first Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge casino, highlights 150 slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 one armed bandits and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international vacation and hotel complex that highlights many luxuries on top of the gambling hall, which houses ten thousand square feet of 130 one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
